William Jewell College was granted a charter in 1849, becoming one of the first private four-year men’s colleges west of the Mississippi. Located in historic Liberty, Missouri, Jewell is the only national liberal arts college in the Kansas City region and is consistently ranked among top private schools for its rigorous curriculum, high graduation rates, low student debt, overall value, qualified faculty and commitment to the community. The NCAA Division II college offers four-year degrees in a residential setting, guiding students to live what they learn, think critically, engage in the world and prepare for lives of leadership and service.

The William Jewell College Archives include records of the institution and those affiliated with the college, which date back as far as the late 1800s. Historically, many of the records focus on the time period of the American Frontier and following. The resources that are available include newspapers, yearbooks, student applications, event programs, histories of campus organizations, and biographical information of people involved with William Jewell College and the surrounding area. The college archives also maintain the William E. Partee Center for Baptist Historical Studies.

The William Jewell College Archives are located in the Charles F. Curry Library on the campus quadrangle. The archives are open to the public by appointment.
