Dr. Claire Wolnisty is an assistant professor of United States history at Austin College. She earned her doctorate at the University of Kansas in 2016 and her research interests, which she explores in her book, A Different Manifest Destiny, include Civil War Era Southern-Latin American networks, migration, slavery, and expansion.
